Some one got a white nose while scratching the garbage................We are still painting the chalet of the allotment- it turned out a little bit too green (obviously it is now becoming white).

Work hard canoe home
via TDC
I love my teaching job, but at the end of the school year these days are really intens and very long...It is monday and i am totally worn out after a 6 hour interview (final exam of the bachelor students) and some hours correcting work. My brain feels exhausted! The best way to relax after such a long day is....canoe home!

Far away from Blogland
Last week we got a suprise call from the local Gardening Club. After 2 years on the waiting list, we were invited to come and see this vacant plot. We want to live a greener lifestyle for some years now, so ofcourse we said yes and now we own some land with a little challet.
I know, it sounds dowdy, but i quess we are becoming one of those people who go to the allotment 2 or 3 times a week..... There is still alot of work to do, but we have this ambition to slowly turn the place in a trendy place to hang out. A place where we can grow a little bit of our own food, have a vegetable garden, flower beds and a barbecue point, where i can meditate and do my yoga exercises, write and study, watch the birds, play with the dog, have romantic nights with my love etc etc...Just the perpect place to spend a lot of time in the summer!
This weekend we did the indoor painting. We also want to paint the exterior but first have to save up some money and finish the kitching project. Upcoming weekend we want to decorate the place, but as you can see we allready made a start. I am loving it!

Kitchen project: step 1
A little while ago i wrote about our plan to make a new kitchen. We designed a kitchen that works for us, with the intention to stay here the upcoming years. It will be made by my Love, with a little bit help from Ikea and the carpenter.
Keywords: wood, concrete & exposed brick loaded with history.
We hope it will turn out urban style, that it wil become a place were vintage finds a modern world.
Here about the progress of the Kitchen Project
Step 0: former situation - the former retail floor used to be our working space
Step 1: breaking down the walls
And suddenly there is this mediaeval wall with a door to our neighbors. Heritage came by and was impressed! And some local journalist used our wall to highlight the importance of the cultural heritage of this century old city. So you can image we decided to keep this wall and now need to find a way to honor those brick loaded with history!
