vertical (herb) garden

We are still preparing our kitchen renovation and i would love to to do some indoor gardening.
We do not have a city garden, so would it not be great to create a lush, living wall inside our home?

Hurray! 4 days National Holiday! Here, we have extremely sunny days, but planned to do some home decoration (painting the balcony doors). My love already spent some days sanding, i have the privilege to do the painting. We choose a historical colour inspired from remnants of original colours found on old homes and historical buildings in Dordrecht city (our house is build in 1840). This summer we will also paint the housefront in historical colours, so this is a try out. I am so excited, how will it turn out?

When we are finished with the painting we will go out and enjoy some family days in the east of the country. Looking forward for some relaxing time!

Enjoy your weekend!

Amsterdam Flea Market II

Yesterday, I promised to show my findings from the IJ-hallen Flea Markt in Amsterdam, so here are some photos of the storage container i bought. I do not know why, but i was in an yellow ochre mood and i immediately fell for it. The little cordate tin is a gift from my Granny - her nick name is Poppy and she got it when she was a kid. Inside you can find a scented candle. It is very precious to me. The old key and ferfume holder were gifts from my mother in law who lives next to cycle shop and loves to browse there for little presents.
I also bought an carpet in the same colour- i guess i will use it to make a vintage patchwork curtain for our new kitchen. I will soon tell you more about the kitchen project- we are really excited about it- it is now really taking shape in our head!

Vibrant Flea Market Amsterdam

Today i had an I-Day (Inspiration Day) with my dear friend Saadia in Amsterdam. The last time we saw each other was more than six moth ago, so you can imagine we first had to do some serious chat with coffee and pie! We some hours in cafe Noorderlicht, " a Tibetan-prayer-flag-draped greenhouse,  food and drinks in a funky ambience" according to the Lonely Planet.

Than we went to the monthly indoor flea market in the IJ-hallen. A fantastic industrial place where you can find hundreds of stalls. I really loved the colour palette and even found some birds there in the hangar!

My friend bought two pair of shoes on the cheap, i must admit i was more impressed by the building than by the stuff....But tomorrow i will show you my findings.

Hope you all enjoyed your day as much i did!

Grief - here we go again

Feeling a bit lost in my own pain
i went shopping at Dit is Waar (This is True)
(sorry-just in Dutch)
bought lots of presents
for all those
BIUTUFUL people in my life
Well, giving is fun
and every little present is Fair Trade
so (i tell my self)
at least
my pain ties people
in a positive way together.
