Under the Toscan Sun.....

Daily life has begun! This week work started again and i must say i love it.... A break in the routine is good for the spirit, but it nice to have my own rhythm again. To me, the best thing about being on holiday is to discover how much i miss my own home and daily life! After 1,5 weeks a way it already starts to itch, bit by bit i am longing for my own rituals & environment. It is always about little things, like the joy i feel when i am buying my favorite flowers at the market, getting a hot bath while burning a candle, making coffee early in the morning or reading magazines in the library........The first thing I noticed when we came home was.....the light! I saw some amazing special soft tone light when we entered our home town Dordrecht. Dordrecht is an island and we live at a canal: the reflection on the waters adds a very special, indefinable quality to the light. Back home i remembered me saying every time i took a picture in Italie, that the light was not okay...I quess i just missed home!

But of course, i am still hanging on to happy holiday memories from France & Italie. That is why being home now tastes so good.....

Every morning i started with outdoor yoga. Amazing! It always brightened my day.

Our old Toscan house was situated at a dead- end gravel street in the Toscan hills, so we hardly see anybody, just a farmer on a tractor now and then.

The nearest village where we could do our groceries, Santa Fiora.
Relaxing and playing at a little waterfall. Really needed a hat because of the burning sun....
Italian food & wine!!!!
And of course the almost best way to start you day (after yoga) is drinking the finest Italian espresso while sitting on a rock looking down over the hills into the upcoming sun.......

Wish in the Wind

Home again! Summer holiday is over and although we had a lot of fun it is good to be HOME again!

My first week i spent camping with my friend and her 2 little foster children at a great ecofriendly, spiritual place in the Vogezen in France, Ecolonie. Ecolonie is a community where a group of 8 people (and some kids) sharing the same ecological ideas lives together. You can camp at their property and if you like you can do some voluntering and contribute to the different projects like the (herbal) gardens and the goat farm. We just did a lot of playing there with the kids and some friends.

The place is truly an unique beauty, with a peaceful, quiet atmosphere! I especially loved the " flower wish spiral", a spiral made of flowers where you can put on you wish. They are vibrant, visual messages and looks so colorful altogether. The wind will take your wish.........

There a a lot of new memories in my mind i am so grateful ofHopefully one day i will be back there to share Ecolonie with my own family!
