Patchwork Curtain
I am doing research for my Patchwork Curtain Project. I want to make a huge curtain for our new kitchen which will be placed at the ground floor -a former retail space. The curtain will be hung just after the door when you enter the house and is supposed to keep out the daught.
The idea is to use vintage fabrics i collected during the years, but the fabrics from Vermiljoenshop makes my mouth water! Well, around july you will see how this project turned out (with a little bit help of my mum)............

Granny Chic
This week i had some special time at my Granny's place. My dear grandfather (91) just moved into an care hotel, so after more than 60 years my Granny (86) now lives all by herself in the family house where 2 out of 3 kids where born. You can imagine how precious this place is to all of us.
I went to my Granny for a sleep-over, so we could together enjoy her little rituals.
Just be able to be part of her everyday live.
Together
drinking coffee in the sun
watching her shivering hands while sowing cress
listening to classic FM
have a chit chat with the neighbours
select pictures for Grandfather
stroll at de Fred.....
It was such a gift!
My mom (who also came for a few hours) and i made us a vegalicious dinner in Granny's adorable old kitchen.
We prepared risotto with beans, with a carrot-fennel salade. For the first time in my life (sorry- i must admit i am from the generation Supermarket) I beaned shells.
What a beautys!
For dessert i made French Toast with banana, curd & strawberries.
This weekend i will post the recipe for this
Delicious & Granny Chic Dessert!

I-Day: Piet Hein Eek
The ultimate holiday feeling:
waking up
with a smile on your face
no plans for the day
so you can
ask your self
" what am i up to today?"
A little 2 hours later i find myself next to my love
in the Piet Hein Eek.nl restaurant
eating a giant apple pie.
Piet Hein Eek,
the Dutch designer
who got famous
with his scrap wood furniture,
opened an amazing concept store in Eindhoven.
So i had the perfect I-Day (inspiration day)
drooling at the
unique pieces of his collection.
It is really cool to go and glance into the factory
so you can follow the fabrication process.
One by One
Handmade!
Hurray
for the recycle’ designer!

Something old something new
1. Something old: the chair from the Grandfather of my love- at least 60 years old, probably more. We've got 4 of them, some restored other still waiting for a new seat or colour. Hopefully, this summer they will be used -after 20 years- again as kitchen furniture!
2. Something new: bird no. 17 from Geninne. Gift from my parents, waiting for my new (working / meditation) room!
